Last fall my husband and I spent one night in the Spray Park wilderness area in Mount Rainier National Park, WA. Just after breakfast a black bear came very near our site at the Cataract Valley backpackers campground. A few moments later two black bear cubs were following the same tracks.
great post.

Thank you! This was such a great overnight backpacking trip along an unofficial route of the Wonderland Trail circumnavigating Mount Rainier. If we ever get the permit to hike the Wonderland Trail, we will take the official route. The Spray Park area of the trail is magical!

Love these wildlife photos. We get lots of Sun here in San Diego (except for right now) but there’s not much wildlife, so I have to live vicariously through people more fortunate.

Thank you! I am living vicariously through you as you enjoy warmer weather and see the sun more often than were are now in the Pacific Northwest! Your photos have me begging for the summer!
